Tycroc UHP base boards are suitable for both renovation projects and new-build construction. The boards can be installed on various load-bearing substrates that are level, dry, strong, rigid, and stable, including concrete, OSB boards, plywood, and timber decking.

When installed on timber substrates and used beneath a floating floor finish, the base boards can also be mechanically fixed using Tycroc combination screws and fixing washers. In other applications, the boards are bonded using Tycroc Fast Fix acrylic adhesive or a tile adhesive suitable for the substrate. Adhesive installation provides a more rigid and stable subfloor while also helping to reduce impact sound.

Tycroc UHP base boards are suitable beneath all common floor coverings, including parquet flooring, timber flooring, ceramic tiles, and natural stone. Where required, an additional levelling compound or a rigid intermediate layer such as a cement fibre board, floor gypsum board, OSB board, or plywood may be used.

Vinyl flooring products (LVT, LVP, SPC) and PVC flooring generally require an additional rigid intermediate layer. Floating laminate flooring and engineered or solid wood flooring can typically be installed directly on top of Tycroc UHP base boards using a suitable underlay. Ceramic tiles and natural stone are installed using an appropriate tile adhesive. The installation requirements for both the base boards and the final floor covering remain the same regardless of whether the system uses heating pipes or heating cables.

In addition to providing a solution for the manifold area, ungrooved C-boards are also suitable for the following applications:

• Rooms with more complex layouts where grooves need to be cut according to project-specific requirements, such as corners, transitions between rooms, and other special details.
• Beneath electric heating mats, where they act as an insulating, heat-distributing, and heat-reflecting substrate.
